RD Contracting was created in the year 2000, starting out as a small framing company and working for other local builders. The company eventually began taking on more projects independently. It didn’t take long before those small renovations led to work building spec homes and other major projects, including renovations on a 3600 ft.² house.
Over the next few years, RD Contracting focused on custom homes as the main source of revenue. Today, we are known as our community’s premier builder of custom homes. We pride ourselves on extreme professionalism and keeping our promises. We develop our customers’ dreams and visions, building homes where they can spend the rest of their lives comfortably. Our attention to detail, efficient organization, timely deliveries, and commitment to meeting the original quote all set us apart!

Jenny Dickson
Co-Owner/Operations Manager
Jenny is a lifelong Whitecourt resident. She studied at Grant MacEwen for business marketing. Jenny does it all here at RD from marketing and sales, accounts payable and receivables, to ordering your crystal chandelier and making sure it gets here on time. Jenny is exceptional at communicating with our clients to make the whole building process seamless and stress-free! She has made RD contracting a building company that has a reputation of building beautiful homes that stand the test of time with and honesty and integrity. She takes pride in helping you get the home you’ve always dreamed of! She is the first person you talk to when starting to plan the build of your new home and the last person that walks out the doors when it’s done, to make sure every detail is taken care of! She is also an exceptional volunteer in the Whitecourt community, whether it’s raising money her children’s schools or managing baseball teams she’s done it all. RAY DICKSON
Co-Owner, Site Supervisor
Ray Dickson is an immensely talented tradesman with a passion for his craft. He is the co-owner of RD Contracting and currently supervises all operations. As a master carpenter and perfectionist, Ray handles all custom finishing and tile flooring work. Born in Manitoba, Ray moved to Alberta when he was 10 with his family. He began working as a carpenter’s helper for a local home builder at age 15. Ray would graduate with a diploma in Urban Planning and Design from Edmonton’s Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT).
RD Contracting officially began in 2000, with Ray working primarily as a framer. The focus gradually shifted to building more and more spec properties alongside his business partner and wife. In 2010, Ray decided to focus exclusively on custom home building, setting the stage for the company RD Contracting is today!
